My 2yr old and 7 month old are really drawn to this story, with the repetitive text, rhythm, illustrations, and figurative language. My 2yr old has started "reading" the book by herself, by turning to each age and saying "Mama Why." The story itself is wonderful, but the illustrations really bring it to life.

Bought this as a Mother's Day gift and am in the process of filling it out. The book has a hard cover and a nice weight to it. I'm using a regular pen to fill it out but the pages are thick and probably wouldn't bleed through if you used a gel pen or something similar.
